RIO DE JANEIRO, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- Manchester City have invited Brazilian teenager Victor Moura to train with the club and could secure a first refusal option on the midfielder, according to media reports on Saturday.
The 15-year-old took part in a 10-day trial with the Premier League outfit earlier this month, scoring for the Sky Blues in an under-16 match against Newcastle.
Moura is currently a part of Corinthians' youth academy and is expected to sign his first professional contract with the Sao Paulo-based club in January.
"Their intention is to monitor our youth players," Corinthians director Augusto Melo was quoted as saying by the Uol portal. "In relation to Victor, in time they may get a purchasing option for him."
According to Melo, Corinthians also hope to benefit from closer ties with Manchester City by sending a coach to the English club's academy next year.
"We want to see how they develop their players and use the experience for our own training purposes," Melo said.
