HANOI, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- Vietnamese U19 football team have been awarded 300 million Vietnamese dong (over 13,300 U.S. dollars) for winning a berth at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U19 Championship 2016.
The team won all four matches at the qualifiers to head to the final round to be held in Bahrain in 2016.
The awarding decision was declared by Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) on Wednesday, local media reported.
On Tuesday, Vietnam beat the host Myanmar 1-0 in the last match of Group G' s qualifying in Myanmar' s Yangon City.
A total of 43 teams were divided into 10 groups at the qualifying round. The top group winners and five best runner-ups will qualify for the finals, while Bahrain is automatically qualified as the host of the final round in 2016.
Vietnam is currently the first team from Southeast Asia entering the final round of the AFC U19 Championship 2016.
