KAZAN, Russia, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- Briton Gary Hunt swept to win the gold medal of high diving here on Wednesday at the World Championships.

Hunt, who won silver medal two years ago, held on to his lead from the first three rounds on Monday to win the title with a total score of 629.30.

The silver medal went to Mexican Jonathan Paredes on 596.45. while Russian Artyom Silchenko took the third place to please the home crowd.

David Colturi of the Unites States was in second place after Monday's first three rounds, but slipped to fourth. He attempted the most difficult dive of the 12 finalists in the last round, but only landing awkwardly and finished seven points after Silchenko.
