英语文摘:Earl Lloyd, first black player in NBA, dies at 86

WASHINGTON, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- Earl Lloyd, the first African- American played in NBA, died at 86.

Floyd began his career in Washington Capitols on 1950, then helped the Syracuse Nationals win the 1955 NBA title.

He finished his 9-season playing career with the Detroit Pistons and averaged 8.4 points and 6.4 rebounds the whole career.

Lloyd went on to become one of the NBA's first African- American head coaches with the Pistons from 1971-72.
