WASHINGTON, Dec. 24 (Xinhua) -- The Cleveland Cavaliers announced on Wednesday that their center Anderson Varejao will be out for the rest of the NBA season. The Brazilian was injured in the third quarter of Tuesday's game.

Varejao collapsed under the basket while going for a rebound during the victory. When his teammates prepared for Cavs' game on Christmas Day against the Heat, Varejao had to face his out for season with a torn tendon.

The 32-year-old Brazilian averaged 9.8 points and 6.5 rebounds per game this season.
