WASHINGTON, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- Rajon Rondo had a triple-double Sunday night for the Boston Celtics, who held off a strong comeback from Washington Wizards to win 101-93 in Paul Pierce's return.

Rondo contributed 13 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists while Jeff Green scored 25 points, Marcus Thornton had 21 for Celtics, who won their third straight.

Rasual Butler led Washington with 22 points. John Wall had 17 points, 14 assists and eight rebounds. Pierce, who played as a Celtics for 15 seasons, scored 16 points for Wizards.
