PARIS, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- Last season's runners-up of Ligue 1, Monaco, Saturday claimed a welcome win at home over Evian, while league minnows Bastia and Guingamp both triumped as visiting sides.

Before Saturday's 10th round top-flight soccer of France, three wins from nine had left Monaco in the bottom half of the table.
