SAO PAULO, Oct. 3 (Xinhua) -- Brazil coach Dunga has recalled Kaka to the national team for friendlies against Argentina and Japan.
The 32-year-old replaces Cruzeiro midfielder Ricardo Goulart, who has been ruled out of the matches due to a thigh injury, Brazil's football confederation said on Friday.
Kaka has not represented the Selecao since March 2013 and was overlooked for the team's 2014 World Cup squad under former coach Luiz Felipe Scolari.
But the 2007 FIFA World Player of the Year has impressed for Sao Paulo since joining the Brazilian club on loan from Orlando City in July.
"This is my reward," Kaka told a press conference on Friday. "I will be playing two matches and I'm happy to be given this chance."
Brazil will play Argentina in Beijing on October 11 before a clash against Japan in Singapore three days later.
Kaka's selection means he will miss three matches for Sao Paulo, who are challenging for their first Brazilian Serie A title since 2008.
The former AC Milan and Real Madrid playmaker reiterated calls for urgent changes to Brazil's football schedule.
"The calendar needs to be revisited so that clubs are not affected," Kaka said.
"In other countries the leagues stop for FIFA dates. Here that needs to be looked and not something that is considered a future project.
"We have to make decisions and sort it out. If we don't Brazilian clubs will continue to suffer."
