BERLIN, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- Olympique Lyon's Jimmy Briand joined Hannover until June 2015, the Bundesliga club confirmed in an official statement on Friday.
Hannover strengthen their offence with the signing of striker Jimmy Briand, who received the jersey number 21 after putting pen to paper on a one year deal.
The Frenchman played from 2003 until 2010 for Stade Rennais before he joined Olympique Lyon to score 22 goals in 110 appearances for "Les Gones".
"Jimmy Briand can play on both wings but also centre. We needed a player for this position and I am convinced that we have found good solution," Hannover's manager Dirk Dufner told the clubs official homepage.
The 29-year-old new arrival made since 2008 five caps for the French national team. His new side completed the last season on 10th place of the Bundesliga standings.
