MADRID, May 4 (Xinhua) -- Marc Marquez (Honda) won the Spanish MotoGP in front of his home fans in Jerez on Sunday afternoon.
The reigning World Champion gave another display of his dominance in the sport in a race in which Jorge Lorenzo, who finally finished fourth, suffered a bad start, allowing Marquez, who was followed by Valentino Rossi (Yamaha) and fellow Spaniard Dani Pedrosa (Honda), to race into the lead.
Marquez's victory in Jerez saw him move 28 points clear of Pedrosa in the riders' Championship, with Rossi 39 points behind and Lorenzo 65 off the pace.
Earlier in the day, Finland's Mika Kallio (Kalex) won the Moto2 race ahead of Dominique Aegerter (Suter) and Jonas Folger (Kalex) with overall Moto2 Championship leader Esteve Rabat fourth.
In Moto3 Italian Romano Fenati( KTM) finished ahead of Spanish duo of Efren Vazquez(Honda) and Alex Riis (Honda).
Fenati's win saw him move to within 5 points of Jack Miller in the overall riders' championship after Miller finished fourth in Jerez.
