TURIN, May 1 (Xinhua) -- Benfica head coach Jorge Jesus insisted on Thursday that his side were better than Juventus over the two legs of the Europa League semifinals.
The Portugese side, who enjoyed a 2-1 advantage in the first leg, managed to draw 0-0 at Juventus to reach the final which will be held at the Juventus stadium on May 14.
Jesus countered Juventus head coach Antonio Conte's claim that his side deserved to reach the final, saying Benfica were a better side.
"Benfica earned the final as we played better than Juve in both legs. Juve are a good team, but defensively Benfica played very well," he said.
"We had the advantage from the first leg and controlled all their movements in the second leg. We deserved to reach the final because we were better than Juve," he added.
