KAMPALA, April 25 (Xinhua) -- Uganda's four-man team on Friday left for Lusaka, Zambia to participate in the 2014 Africa Junior Golf Challenge that runs April 27-May 1 at the Chainama Hills Golf Club.
Scratch player Ronald Otile will captain Uganda's team as they go all out to try and improve on their fourth place finish last year.
Uganda Golf Union committee member, Herbert Rwambibazi told Xinhua before the team left that they are sure the team will perform well.
"We are confident of this group of players and we believe they will do well this time around," Rwambibazi said.
Daniel Baguma, Denis Otim and Andrew Byaruhanga are the other players on Uganda's team, while professional player Deo Akope is the Head coach.
The format of the tournament will be played over 72 holes with stroke play over four days. The team score for each day shall be obtained by adding the best three of the four gross scores.
Thirteen nations including defending champions South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Kenya and Tunisia among others will also take part in the event.
The top two teams at the Challenge will be invited to the World Junior Golf tournament to be held in Japan in July.
