BERLIN, April 24 (Xinhua) -- German international defender Andreas Beck put pen to paper on a contract extension until June 2017, Hoffenheim said on Thursday.
After a long back and forth Hoffenheim and team captain Andreas Beck have agreed on a new three-year deal.
"We are delighted that Andy decided to continue at Hoffenheim. Andy is not only sporty valuable for us but he takes a leading role in our club as a captain," Hoffenheim's director of professional soccer Alexander Rosen said in an official statement.
Beck joined the "TSG 1899" in 2008 after two years at Stuttgart. Since his arrival he made 180 appearances to score three goals. In addition he was appointed into the German national squad in 2009 to make nine caps.
"Hoffenheim was at all times my first option. Now I'm glad that the issue is settled and we take the next steps together," the 27-year-old told the clubs official homepage.
Hoffenheim sit currently on ninth place in the standings with 40 points, seven points clear of the international business.
