LISBON, April 21 (Xinhua) -- Porto beat Rio Ave 3-0 on Monday night at Dragon Stadium in Portugual's second largest city of Porto to secure third place in the Portuguese league and pass to the Champions League qualifying round.

Jackson Martinez put Porto ahead in the 61st minute, his 19th goal this season.

Mexican midfielder Hector Herrera made it 2-0 in the 72nd minute with a header, following a pass by Colombian forward Juan Quintero and Danilo scored in the 90th minute, deceiving goalkeeper Ederson.

Rio Ave stands 11th place with 31 points and faces Pacos de Ferreira in the 29th round.

On Sunday Benfica beat Olhanense 2-0 to clinch the 33rd Portuguese league title.
