BEIJING, April 19 (Xinhua) -- Major League Baseball has launched a reality show in China with a leading Chinese Internet video website in an aim to spread baseball culture in the world's most populous nation.

The auditions for "Perfect Pitch" opened in Tsinghua University on Saturday with hundreds of people showing their batting and pitching skills.

Letv, one of the largest video websites in China, will stream the show on both its web and mobile versions.

"Perfect Pitch is a talent-selecting reality show which is set to raise Chinese enthusiasm in baseball," said Leon Xie, MLB managing director in China.

"Baseball teaches fair play, teamwork, family values and new lifestyle. I believe this game will be more and more popular in China."
