LISBON, April 14 (Xinhua) -- Porto beat Braga 3-1 on Sunday in the north city of Braga in the 27th round of the Portuguese League and remains third after their victory.

Silvestre Varela put Porto ahead in the 23rd minute with an effort that went over goalkeeper Eduardo's reach, following a great pass by Jackson.

Braga striker Moreno equalized in the 57th with a header and Porto's Carlos Eduardo made it 2-1 in the 86th, also with a header.

Colombian midfielder Juan Quintero was helped to deliver by Josue and secured the win in the 90th.

Porto is third in the Portuguese League with 55 points to Sporting's 63, while Benfica is at the top with 70 and just one victory away from clinching the title.
