SOFIA, March 16 (Xinhua) -- Elena Radionova of Russia on Sunday won the ladies competition in the last day of the World Junior Figure Skating Championships.
Radionova, the only defending champion in Sofia, gathered 194.29 points, followed by her compatriots Serafima Sakhanovich and Evgenia Medvedeva with 182.13 points and 178.43 points respectively.
Thus, four nations split as many titles at the championships where 166 skaters from 44 countries and regions have competed.
The first gold went on Thursday to China when Yu Xiaoyu/Jin Yang won the pairs competition, while Russian duets Evgenia Tarasova/Vladimir Morozov and Maria Vigalova/Egor Zakroev took the silver and bronze medals.
On Friday, the American pair Kaitlin Hawayek/Jean-Luc Baker grabbed the ice dance title, ahead of Russians Anna Yanovskaya/Sergey Mozgov and Madeline Edwards/Zhao Kai Pang of Canada.
In junior men, the gold medal on Saturday went to Nam Nguyen of Canada, and Russian Adian Pitkeev got the silver, followed by American Nathan Chen.
