SAO PAULO, March 2 (Xinhua) -- Argentine Federico Delbonis won his maiden ATP title on Sunday with a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 defeat of Italy's Paolo Lorenzi in the Brazil Open final.

The 23-year-old recovered from a poor start to win in two hours and six minutes on the Sao Paulo clay.

"I played better with every match and the final was a great result," Delbonis said. "To tell you the truth I have no words for this."

The result lifts Delbonis 16 places in the world rankings to a career-high No. 45.

In the doubles final, Spain's Guillermo Garcia-Lopez and Austria's PhilippOswald beat Juan Sebastian Cabal and Roberto Farah of Colombia 5-7, 6-4, 15-13.
