ROSA KHUTOR, Russia, Feb. 08 (Xinhua) -- Norway's Ole Einar Bjoerndalen won the men's biathlon 10km sprint on Saturday to tie an Olympic record of 12 medals.

The 40-year-old evened compatriot and cross-country skier Bjorn Daehlie, who also garnered 12 medals in the Olympics.

Austria's Dominik Landertinger and Jaroslav Soukup of the Czech Republic took silver and bronze respectively.

Bjoerndalen's medals included seven gold, four silver and one bronze.
