BUCHAREST, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) -- Four Moldovan athletes, Alexandra Camenshchik, Victor Pinzaru and Georg Lindnerhas, departed for the 22nd Winter Olympic Games to be held in Sochi.
According to news reaching here from Chisinau, the capital city of Moldova, four athletes will represent Moldova at 2014 Winter Olympics, the fourth representative Bogdan Macovei beings already in Sochi.
Moldova's national flag at the opening ceremony will be carried by Pinzaru at the Sochi Olympics.
Moldovan Prime Minister Iurie Leanca will attend the Olympics opening ceremony, together with Minister of Youth and Sports Octavian Bodisteanu.
Moldova competed in the Winter Olympic Games as an independent nation for the first time at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway. Since then, the country has regularly participated in the Winter Olympic Games. Yet, so far, it has not managed to win any medal.
