RIO DE JANEIRO, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) -- Dario Conca has expressed his eagerness to return to the pitch for Fluminense after two years with Chinese Super League club Guangzhou Evergrande.
Conca earned cult hero status among Fluminense fans during his first spell at Laranjeiras from 2008 to 2011, and was influential in the club's 2010 Campeonato Brasileiro title.
The Argentine midfielder could not contain his delight upon arriving at Tom Jobim international airport on Monday, ready for his second coming at the Rio club.
"I'm looking forward to playing again and seeing the friends I left here," the 30-year-old said. "I can't wait to go on the pitch again wearing the Fluminense shirt.
"I hope to be able to make people happy, but I can't promise titles. I can only promise to work hard and do the best I can for the team."
Conca has signed a three-year deal with the Tricolor, earning a reported monthly salary of 300,000 US dollars.
