LISBON, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) -- Porto routed Olhanense 4-0 on Friday to clinch first place in the 14th round of the Portuguese league.
French defender Eliaquim Mangala scored the first goal in the 30th minute with a powerful header from the area, following a corner by Brazilian midfielder Carlos Eduardo.
Porto started off well and moved up a gear in the second half, with another header by Colombian Striker Jackson Martinez in the 50th minute.
Brazilian winger Kelvin Oliveira raced down on the left and crossed to Carlos Eduardo, who arched the ball deep into the net in the 82nd minute from the area, and Mexican midfielder Hector Herrera closed the scoring just two minutes later.
Porto is now provisionally at the top of the league with 33 points, while Olhanense is 15th, with 9 points.
