STOCKHOLM, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Yan An won the men's singles title of the Swedish Open Championships 2013 on Sunday, which was the first time he had won the table tennis open championship, and his compatriot Chen Meng took the women's singles crown.
Three of the four semifinalists were from China. Top seed Xu Xin was beaten by his team mate Fan Zhendong 4-3 while Yan made the final after beating Panagiotis Gionis from Greece 4-0.
In the final, Yan overcame Fan 4-2, who earlier won the championship in open tournaments two times.
Women's top seed Chen won the singles final against team mate Li Xiaodan 4-2, clinching her fourth open championship.
In the men's doubles final, Xu Xin and his Swedish partner Jens Lundqvist beat Yan An and Par Gerelle 3-1, who was also from Sweden, and Li Xiaodan and Mu Zi won the women's doubles final.
The Swedish Open Championships (SOC) is an international table tennis event held in late November every other year. And China featured 12 players for the event this year.
