ROME, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- AC Milan beat 10-man Catania 3-1 Sunday to give Massimiliano Allegri's side first win in six Italian Serie A matches.
Catania came aheand in the 13th minute as Lucas Castro's effort deflected over stand-in goalkeeper Gabriel to put the home team in front.
The visitors leveled the score six minutes later when Riccardo Montolivo volleyed Urby Emanuelson's cross into the back of the net.
Mario Balotelli, who had been in drought of goal in six games of all competitions before 3-0 victory at Celtic, fired Milan to the lead shortly after the hour mark with a low free kick.
Kaka sealed the match nine minutes from time, bursting into the box and firing into the roof of the net from a tight angle to score for the third successive match. It was his 99th Milan goal.
Catania were down to 10 men when Panagiotis Tachtsidis was harshly shown a straight red for a challenge on Balotelli moments later.
Milan moved provisionally level with eighth-placed Lazio. Catania remain at the bottom of the league.
