KUALA LUMPUR, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- Brazilian striker Muriqui, who scored a record 13 goals for China's Guangzhou Evergrande in their recent AFC Champions League triumph, won the award of AFC Foreign Player of the Year here on Tuesday.

Muriqui, 27, had already collected the AFC Champions League MVP and Top Scorer. He also played a key role in Guangzhou Evergrande's three consecutive title-winning campaigns in the Chinese Super League.

Muriqui's Argentine teammate Dario Conca were also short-listed for the candidate.

Guangzhou Evergrande won China's first Asian championship title in 23 years on Nov. 9 under the helm of Italian coach Marcello Lippi.
