RIO DE JANEIRO, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- Turkish side Besiktas have stepped up their pursuit of two-time FIFA World Player of The Year Ronaldinho, according to local media reports.
The 33-year-old has been offered a retainer of three million euros a year plus 25 million euros per match to sign in January, Lancenet reported on Friday.
Reports of Besiktas interest comes after Ronaldinho's brother and manager, Roberto Assis, met with directors of the Istanbul club during the last European summer transfer window.
The former Barcelona's star is out of contract with Brazilian outfit Atletico Mineiro at the end of December.
He is currently recovering from an adductor injury and is in a race against time to be fit for Atletico's FIFA Club World Cup campaign in Morocco next month.
