NANNING, China, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- The 2013 Asian Aquabike Qinzhou Open kicked off in Qinzhou City in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Saturday morning, with athletes delivering demonstration performances during the opening ceremony.
A total of 135 athletes representing 38 domestic and foreign teams are participating in the two-day event this year, the biggest scale since its debut in 2010.
The competition, which is organized by the General Administration of Sport of China, was intended to enhance the abilities of pro players while encouraging international exchanges, according to the organizers.
Apart from those from the hosts, the competition also attracts participants from Australia, Brunei, Estonia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Thailand and the United States.
