RIO DE JANEIRO, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- Vasco da Gama recovered from two goals behind to earn a pulsating 2-2 draw against Botafogo in the Campeonato Brasileiro on Sunday.
Dankler and Uruguay international midfielder Nicolas Lodeiro had given the hosts a 2-0 lead in the first seven minutes.
But Jomar and Pedro Ken both struck in the 14 minutes of the second half to tie the scores at the Maracana stadium.
Botafogo withstood a late barrage by Vasco, including a dipping long-range shot from former Brazil midfielder Juninho that was finger-tipped clear by Jefferson.
The result left Botafogo fourth in the standings while Vasco rose to 17th, still three points from escaping the relegation zone.
