RIO DE JANEIRO, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- Brazilian soccer legend Pele Wednesday launched a luxury limited edition book about his career.

The book, entitled "1283" after the number of goals scored by Pele, weighs 15kg and costs 3,600 reais (1,700 U.S. dollars).

The book contains 500 pictures and 1,283 texts and only 1,283 copies are being printed.

Pele, 72, burst on the scene in 1958 as a 17-year-old to help fire Brazil to their first World Cup.

The book will have an Oct. 29 launch in London, with later dates to be set for New York and Dubai.
