TIANJIN, China, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Jiang Fan won the men's 110m hurdles in 13.58 seconds at the 6th East Asian Games (EAG) here on Wednesday, helping China win this event in all the six editions of EAG.
Jiang Fan didn't claim the title easily. Kim Byoungjun from South Korea lagged behind for just 0.03 seconds.
"It was tough. But I told myself that I must win at home," Jiang said.
"China boasts the advantage in the men's 110m hurdles in Asia and we should never lose it," Jiang added.
Jiang got the silver medal in 13.52 at the 12th National Games in September when Xie Wenjun won in 13.36. Ji Wei ranked the third in 13.65 at that time.
On Wednesday, Ji again finished third. "If I did not hit the last hurdle I would have won," said Ji.
In Wednesday's athletic competitions, China won seven out of eight titles at stake. Japan took the men's 4x100m relay gold.
