Hohhot, China, Oct. 3 (Xinhua) -- US Stars Team beat CBA's team Jilin Northeast Tigers 87-85 to win China-US Basketball-Star Challenge on Thursday night in Hohhot, north China's Inner Mongolia.
US might have lost if Jilin had not miss the last 3-points shoot. The US Stars Team was led by former NBA players Rafer Alston, Jason Williams and Bonzi Wells.
"Luck helps us," Wells said. He shot the first 3-points for US soon after the game started, but never scored from then on.
Alston said that he once believed US would lead by 20, but Jilin's defense made it a close game.
In the fourth quarter, Williams threw the ball hard to a judge that got him the only technical fouls in the whole game. Williams refused to say anything after the game.
Jilin's center Tian Yuchen had the game-high 21 points and forward Zhang Biao adding 20.
