RIO DE JANEIRO, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- Fans seeking an advantage in their pursuit of 2014 World Cup tickets have been advised to apply for matches in the cities of Cuiaba and Manaus.
According to local newspaper Folha de S.Paulo, six of the tournament's 64 fixtures have had only moderate demand, each of them at Arena Pantanal (Cuiaba) and Arena Amazonia (Manaus).
"For that reason they are the matches in which interested fans have greater chances of getting tickets during the first ticketing phase," the newspaper said.
Almost one million tickets will be available during the first stage of sales, which closes on October 10. Successful applicants will be drawn from a lottery.
Leftover tickets will be available on a first-come first-served basis on November 5 before another round of ticket sales begins on December, following the World Cup draw.
Manaus and Cuiaba will host four matches each during the June 12-July 13 tournament.
