MANAGUA, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- Nicaraguan soccer team Real Esteli will play Honduran club Olimpia at home Wednesday as part of the Concacaf (Confederation of North American, Central American and Caribbean Association Football) 6th Champions League games, the Nicaraguan Football Federation (Fenifut) said Tuesday.
The game will be played in the northern department of Esteli's Independence Stadium, said Fenifut, adding that Nicaraguan teams have two draws and 10 defeats against Honduran clubs in official Concacaf tournaments.
"Real Esteli will try to extend to 12 the stretch of consecutive games that Honduras' winning team Olimpia has played away and received at least one goal," said Fenifut.
According to Fenifut, Olimpia has played a total of 11 away games in the five former editions of the Champions League, and in each one it has taken at least one goal.
Three-time Honduran champion Olimpia, nicknamed "Los Leones" (The Lions), was to arrive Tuesday in Nicaragua.
Meanwhile, Real Esteli, known as "El Tren del Norte" (The Northern Train), will have to play without its Honduran midfielder Elmer Mejia and Brazilian defender Douglas de Souza, both out due to injuries, coach Otoniel Olivas said.
