MOSCOW, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- Russia's Aleksandr Menkov claimed the title of men's long jump with a world leading mark of 8.56 meters at 2013 IAAF World Championships here on Friday.
The 22-year-old Russia went out to 8.52 in the third round to renew the world leading mark of 8.46 set by Mexico's Luis Rivera at the Kazan University Games last month. He went on to set the winning mark in the fifth round to better the world lead again.
Dutchman Ignisious Gaisah landed the silver at 8.29 while Rivera settled for the bronze medal with a lackluster 8.27.
