MOSCOW, July 16 (Xinhua) -- Moscow is ready for the 2013 World championships, IAAF general secretary Eccar Gabriel said here Tuesday.
"With 25 days left until the IAAF World Championships in Moscow, all sports facilities are ready and tickets are selling," Gabriel said at the press conference.
He also said that over 2000 athletes from some 200 countries and regions all over the world, including Olympic men's 100m winner Usain Bolt, will participate in the top level athletics events. Meanwhile, more than 3500 journalists have already registered in the games.
Executive director of the Moscow World Championships organizing committee Alexander Polinsky talked about the ticket-selling, saying that the prices for the events, vary form 100 to 3500 rubles (3-108 U.S. dollars), are moderate.
According to Polinsky, nearly all tickets have been sold for the first weekend in which Bolt is expected to run in the 100- meter final, while more than 70 percent have been sold for the second weekend.
The 2013 IAAF World Championships are scheduled for Aug. 10 to 18 in the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.
