TUNIS, July 8 (Xinhua) -- Tunisia's 27-year-old Salah Mejri has signed a one year contract with European basketball champions Real Madrid, Radio Mosaique FM reported on Monday.

Prior to signing with Real Madrid, the 2.17-meter-high center played with Antwerp Giants and more recently with Blusens Monbus Obradoiro, where he scored an average of 9.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 36 Spanish League games.

Mejri helped Tunisia win the African basketball championship in 2011. He also played with Tunisia's national team in the 2013 Mediterranean Games in Mersin, Turkey.
