ST. PETERSBURG, July 2 (Xinhua) -- Veteran Ukrainian midfielder Anatoly Tymoshchuk today passed a medical examination for his new club Zenit, the press service for the St. Petersburg club today reported.

The 34-year-old, who played 100 games for Zenit before transferring to Bayern Munich, returned to St. Petersburg as a free agent on July 1, where he is expected to end his distinguished career.

Tymoshchuk is joined by fellow veteran Andrei Arshavin, who also officially returned to Zenit colors yesterday after a stint with English club Arsenal.

Tymoshchuk and Arshavin may feature as early as July 6 for Zenit against Shakhtar.
