ANKARA, May 30 (Xinhua -- Turkish Galatasaray soccer club signed a contract with Aurelien Chedjou from French Lille club, Turkish Anadolu Agency reported Thursday.

Galatasaray announced on Thursday that they had signed a four- year contract worth of 6.3 million euro with the 26-year-old center back.

According to the contract, Galatasaray will also pay an annual salary of 2.2 million euro to the Cameroonian defender.

It is the first transfer for Galatasaray in the 2013-2014 season. The Turkish champion, which parted ways with its Czech defender, Tomas Ujfalusi, had allegedly contacted the French club for sometime.
