RIO DE JANEIRO, May 16 (Xinhua) -- Roma is preparing a bid to sign Brazilian defender Marcos Rocha in July, local media reported on Thursday.

Rocha was last year called up for Brazil's national team after a series of impressive performances for Atletico Mineiro.

The 24-year-old right back's agent, Luciano Brustolini, said he had heard the reports but denied any contact with the Italian Serie A club over a possible move.

"I just found out now that Roma are interested in Marcos Rocha, but there is nothing to it," Brustolini said.

This sort of speculation is normal for someone who is playing the way he is. But right now all that Marcos is concentrating on is playing as well as he can for Atletico Mineiro."
