ROME, April 8 (Xinhua) -- The Rome derby between Roma and Lazio of the Italian Serie A was marred by fans violence, in which a few fans were stabbed and an ambulance was attacked as reported on Monday.

The ANSA new agency reported at least four fans were stabbed and an ambulance was abandoned after fireworks, rocks and sticks were thrown at it.

The game was played at the Stadio Olimpico and nearby stores closed early ahead of the night game.
