LONDON, April 2 (Xinhua) -- Chelsea nailed a FA Cup semifinal berth on Monday through Demba Ba's sole goal of the match after beating Manchester United.

Demba Ba broke the ice four minutes into the second half as he hooked the ball over goalkeeper David De Gea into the goal.

Chelsea is on course for a fifth FA Cup triumph in seven seasons and also has a Europa League quarterfinal on Thursday. But the team is still focusing on securing a top-four finish and Champions League qualification in the Premier League where Chelsea is currently fourth with 55 points.

Manchester United is the runaway leader in the league with a 15 points gap from the second-placed Manchester City. The two Manchester teams play Monday.
