THE HAGUE, March 15 (Xinhua) -- Tonny Vilhena was named in The Netherlands squad by coach Louis van Gaal on Friday for the 2014 World Cup qualifying matches against Estonia and Romania on March 22 and 26 respectively.
The 18-year-old midfielder Vilhena, who impressed this season with Feyenoord, received his first call-up.
First captain Wesley Sneijder returned to the squad after an absence of six months because he was not playing at his former club Internazionale. Since his move to Galatasaray in the January transfer window Sneijder got playing time again.
The Netherlands are currently top of World Cup qualification Group D with 12 points from 4 matches. Hungary and Romania are second with 9 points from 4 matches.
