HAIKOU, China, March 3 (Xinhua) -- Mark Allen successfully defended his title at Haikou Open after beating Matthew Stevens 10-4 on Sunday.
In the first session of the final, under one faverable condition, Allen made four back-to-back wins to take the lead in the match. However, Stevens fought back with breaks of 67 and 112 points to make it 4-2. But Allen expanded his advantages in the seventh and eighth frame.
In the second session, Stevens began to make many mistakes while Allen continued his brilliant form on the table after won the seesaw battle in the 10th frame.
Stevens managed a 100-point hit to win the 11th frame, but he could not stop Allen from winning the next two frames.
Allen wrapped up the match with a 68-point break in the 14th frame.
