ROME, Feb. 4 (Xinhua) -- Lazio striker Miroslav Klose will be sidelined for two months with a knee injury, it has been announced on Monday.
The 34-year-old German forward suffered collateral ligament damage in Sunday's loss to Genoa, and will miss the next eight weeks. He will be on the sidelines for vital clashes against Napoli, Milan, Fiorentina and potentially the Rome derby on April 7.
He has been instrumental for Vladimir Petkovic's side this term, scoring 10 goals in 20 League matches.
Lazio President Claudio Lotito insisted that his side can do well without Klose.
"We have won a lot of games without Klose," he said. "So let's see what happens. He could be back before two months - let's see."
"As long as we're in a position to be competitive at the end of the season, who knows what will happen," he said.
