MADRID, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- Real Sociedad came back from 2-0 down at home to hand FC Barcelona their first defeat of the the BBVA Primera Liga this season when beating the leaders 3-2 on Saturday night.
Barca looked to be cruising when they went 2-0 up thanks to goals from Leo Messi, who has scored in 10 consecutive league matches, and Pedro Rodriguez, but Chori Castro pulled a goal back before halftime and Barca were in trouble when Gerard Pique was sent off for two yellow cards just 10 minutes after the break.
A Chori Castro shot deflected past Barca keeper off Javier Mascherano, Victor Valdes leveled the scores after 63 minutes and substitute Imanol Agirretxe sneaked in through the defense to poke home the goal that condemned Barca to their first league defeat of the season in injury time.
Saturday kicked off with Granada ending Rayo Vallecano's 4-game winning run with a 2-0 defeat. A Jordi Amat own goal and an 80th minute shot from Recio, who has recently joined Granada on loan from Malaga gave the Primera Liga strugglers a deserved win.
New Sevilla coach Unai Emery couldn't enjoy a winning league debut as his side were held 1-1 in Getafe. Jose Antonio Reyes put Sevilla ahead, but Getafe earned a draw thanks to Adrian Colunga's second half free kick.
The day ended with Celta taking a valuable point away to Malaga. Martin Demichelis put Malaga ahead after slotting home a rebound, but Augusto Fernandez assured a draw for Celta, who have not lost in Malaga for 30 years, 14 minutes from time.
