WARSAW, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- President Bronislaw Komorowski said the organization of Winter Olympics in 2022 in Poland's Krakow and Zakopane is possible only in cooperation with Slovakia in Bialka Tatrzanska, southern Poland, on Monday.
According to local media report, Komorowski said that he would meet the presidents of the Czech Republic and Slovakia in Poland's Wisla next week to discuss the organization of 2022 Winter Olympics.
He said the presidents of the two countries will gladly support the organization of the games in the Tatra Mountains if their countries' governments embark on proper actions. The final decision depended on consent of three countries' governments.
In October, heads of Polish and Slovak Olympic Committees and the Krakow mayor signed a letter of intent on staging Winter Olympic Games in Krakow in 2022.
The sides agreed on holding official ceremonies and ice competitions in Krakow and ski, biathlon and snowboard competitions in Poland's mountain resort of Zakopane. Slovaks would be responsible for Alpine competitions and, partly, for hockey matches.
