BUENOS AIRES, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- Former Argentinean player Jorge Burruchaga on Monday inked the contract with Atletico de Rafaela as new coach of the soccer club, local media said.
Burruchaga will debut next weekend in the last matchday of the Opening Tournament against the current champion Club Atletico Velez Sarsfield.
Burruchaga, the forward and world champion in Mexico World Cup 1986, will be officially presented in Rafaela city on Tuesday.
The 50-year-old coach was the coach of Paraguay's team Club Libertad last season. Before that, Burruchaga had coached Arsenal (2002-2005 and 2009-2010), Estudiantes de La Plata (2005-2006), Club Atletico Independiente (2006-2007), and Club Atletico Banfield (2008-2009).
In Mexico 1986, Burruchaga scored in the awe-inspiring 3-2 final against Germany, where Diego Armando Maradona became the best player in the world.
