ROME, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- Midfielder Claudio Marchisio scored a brace as Serie A pacesetters Juventus beat 10-man Torino 3-0 in the Turin derby on Saturday.
Juventus' win seemed inevitable after a red card for Torino defender Kamil Glik in the 36th minute, though Andrea Pirlo missed a penalty four minutes before the break.
Marchisio broke the deadlock in the 57th minute with Sebastian Giovinco adding a second 10 minutes later.
Marchisio wrapped up victory five minutes from time as the Bianconeri returned to winning ways and warmed up for a trip to Ukraine on Wednesday, when they face Shakhtar Donetsk in a decisive Champions League fixture.
Torino head coach Giampiero Ventura felt Torino "embarrassed Juventus, but the game ended after Glik's red card."
"Our game ended after Glik's red card, as we simply weren't able to play with 10 men," he said. "However, in the first half we embarrassed Juventus. We were taking over more of the field and playing well, then that incident changed everything."
Juventus assistant coach Angelo Alessio conceded the red card was the turning point of the game.
"The red card changed the game, but it was also an inevitable decision from the referee," he said.
