BORACAY ISLAND, Philippines, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- The central Philippine island resort will once again host the Boracay Beach Volleyball Open on November 16-18, organizers said Thursday.

The annual event, now on its second year, is organized by the Philippine Hotel Reservation Service (PHRS).

The tournament will be composed of three divisions, namely the Philippine Beach Volleyball Association National Championship, the San Miguel Fun Cup, and the Mixed Quattro Division, which is open to both recreational and competitive volleyball enthusiasts.

The PHRS said this annual event is its contribution to the tourism department's campaign to attract more travelers to the Philippines. The PHRS also want to promote physical fitness and sustainable tourism through the event.

Last year, around 3,000 spectators, visitors and registered players from Brazil, Canada, the United States, Qatar, Sweden and Germany competed in the volleyball tournament.
