ROME, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- Torino tasted their first win of the Serie A season as they beat ten-man Pescara 3-0 at home on Saturday.
The hosts went ahead through Alessandro Sgrigna in the 34th minute, seven minutes after Christian Terlizzi was expelled.
Matteo Brighi then added a second before Torino captain Rolando Bianchi, who missed a penalty in the first half, wrapped up victory.
Torino coach Giampiero Ventura, as in last game against Siena, fielded an attack-minded 4-2-4 formation, and this time the bold approach brought what he yearned for.
The match was made easy for the home side in the 27th minute when Terlizzi fouled Bianchi inside the penalty area, earning a red card in the process.
However Pescara goalkeeper Mattia Perin denied Bianchi from the spot, diving to his right to make the save.
Torino took the lead seven minutes later, though, with Bianchi heading the ball to Sgrigna, who hit a powerful right-footed shot that left Perin little chance of repeating his earlier heroics.
Perin kept Pescara in the game early in the second half when he denied Sgrigna in a one-on-one situation, but he was again powerless when Torino broke in the 59th minute with Sgrigna setting up Brighi to make it two.
Bianchi, who also had a hand in Torino's second goal, finally put his own name on the scoresheet in the 62nd minute, beating Perin with a determined header.
Torino had chances to add to their lead as Pescara lost all belief, and their second Serie A game in a row by the same scoreline of 3-0.
